Positive Pet Training
My aim is to enhance the relationship between dog & handler through training to enable them to enjoy & trust in each other.
SCENTWORK CLASSES
Teach your dog to have fun whilst using their nose.
I am a qualified Scentwork UK trainer & judge, these classes are ideal for pets (and owners) who want to have fun as well as those who would like to compete in this up and coming dog activity.
This is an ideal activity for building a bond of trust between you & your dog as it is one of the only times we allow the dog to take the lead & show us what we are looking for.
Classes are a great activity for young dogs & puppies as the exercise is great for stretching the muscles but not so much as to cause joint problems and are also great for helping to encourage rest.
Great for reactive dogs as dogs work individually & are not expected to mix.
I offer group and one to one sessions in scent work held in the Galen Myotherapy Centre in Bolney.
ONE TO ONE SESSIONS
Individual Bespoke Training
These sessions are available to work on any aspect you'd like with your dog, lead walking & recall sessions are especially popular, but if you'd like to try scent or agility & aren't comfortable in a group then I can help.
I will work with you to overcome issues and to improve your skills.
These sessions can be held at your own home or at one of my training venues.
BASIC OBEDIENCE & MANNERS TRAINING
Training with Care
Not just for new puupies but great for any age of dog.
Puppy life skills classes, adolescent training and group interaction.
Socalise your dog in a safe envioroment.
Classes are not just dry obedience, it’s also about having fun with your dog, teach them to recall away from other dogs & people, play with toys, get used to being examined & generally behave in an outdoor environment
AGILITY
Get fit with your friend!
RECALL IS ESSENTIAL FOR THESE CLASSES...
Dogs need to be a minimum of a year old for these classes.
These classes are brilliant for improving your bond with your dog.
Ideal for complete novices and for those dogs (and owners) who just want to have fun or for those who want to take it a little further and compete.
I also cater for the more experienced dogs and handlers who may wish to practice in a diferent environment and for competing partnerships equipment is also available to hire.
MY STORY

MY DOGS
My name is Michelle Ward & I have set up Sit, Sniff & Touch dog training to train people to train their dogs & form partnerships to improve their bond & relationships.
I am an experienced dog trainer of more than 25 years, I have owned dogs of different breeds, sizes & from puppies as well as rescue dogs.
I am a qualified scentwork UK trainer & teach & compete at scentwork. Scent is an amazing way of working with your dog & having fun at the same time. I compete currently to level 4 with my flatcoat retriever cross Minx.
I am an accredited Kennel Club Agility Judge & have competed up to grade 6 with a variety of dogs currently Grade 5 with Tyke & grade 3 with Minx, Razzle is retired but was grade 5 & Pipsqueak is also retired also grade 5. With a previous dog Fizzi, I competed at (&won) at Crufts.
I also train general obedience & have trained up to gold good citizen with Razzle.
All the training I offer can be done just for fun or up to competition level if required (obedience excepted)
I am also a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with 20 years’ experience, through my RVN role I have always had an interest in both training & behaviour & have completed courses in these disciplines as well as running puppy socialisation classes in my previous role.

In addition she is an avid Agility Competitor and also competes in Scent work – even using her most recently acquired dog who arrived with severe behavioural issues.

Michelle is fantastic, she was able to help me with Macey my extremely “Reactive” and “Boisterous” sighthound who made every walk I took her on utter hell, she would constantly attack my other dog whilst out on a walk as well as barking and running at every dog and owner that we met on a walk.
Within a few one to one sessions with Michelle and her pack Macey was a totally different dog. Taking her for a walk is now enjoyable.
